Do you keep a lot of tabs open in Google Chrome like I do?

I generally have about 5 tabs pinned and then after that… it's anybody's guess.

I recently discovered a Chrome extension that makes a huge difference in how well my computer is running. It's also reduced crashes.

The description reads:

"Automatically suspends unused tabs to free up system resources"

and it does just that.

After a certain amount of time, the tabs that have gone unused are put on pause.

A "cover screen" replaces the website. Doing this lets Chrome and your computer focus on the things you're using. It brings the total CPU usage for Chrome down quite a bit. The more tabs you have open, the more CPU Chrome needs.

Getting the website back is as simple as clicking on the window. It comes right back without delay.

It's definitely worth checking out.
